Poem : “Dodomu” by Alokan Oyedele
Dodomu
Sheep of a leaderless flock
Cradled in fate’s dicey grip
The babies of breastless mothers
Sons of busy fathers
Workers without pay
Citizens without gain
Slaves of circumstance
Passengers of destiny
Slanderous backtalkers
Sycophants in presence
Buyers of face value
Ignorant of substance
Fighters of borrowed causes
Violent aggressors
Sacrificial pieces
You are all….
No
We are all
Dodomu.
*Dodomu is a Yoruba word used for a silly or stupid person*
